September 29th is a very popular day in the realm of vodou as it is the feast day for one of the most popular spirit lwas that are serviced in Dominican Vodou and Sanse Vodou.
Belie Belcan is syncretized with the catholic image of Saint Michael the Archangel and because of this syncretism we celebrate Belie Belcan’s feast day on Saint Michael’s feast day. One of the reasons that these two entities are syncretized is becauase like Saint Michael, Belie Belcan stands for justice and all that is right.
He is known for being short of height with fine features and a limp in his right foot.
Belie is a very serious lwa, and should be respected at all times.
