Damballah is the meaning of pure. One of the ancient lwa who is always there for us who has set the standard for what is RADA. He is the only thing that can calm the oguns, he is the yang to Metrezilis yin. Some say he is the creator of the world as we know it, I say he is simply NECESSARY in any Rada lwa follower. ****DO NOT SERVICE HIM NEXT TO ANYTHING THAT IS NOT RADA PLEAASSEE*** , also do not smoke near his service or have it any where dirty or unclean for that matter)
If you are feeling too angry, living in a very “HOT” house where there is always fighting, looking for entrance into the 21 divisions or VODOU PERIOD, trying to change to a good person, want to bring peace into your life or simply feel the calling of Damballah (the ancient rainbowed serpant)… here is a simple service you can do for him.
1st I warn you again DO NOT MIX DAMBALLAH WITH ANY OF YOUR OTHER PALO ELEMENTS or GHUEDE ELEMENTS … keep him either in a RADA setting: ALSO NO SMOKING AROUND HIS SERVICE, ITS BETTER TO JUST NOT SMOKE IN YOUR HOUSE IF THATS WHERE YOU HAVE HIS SERVICE.
So heres a very simple and basic service to damballah if you need more help on how to do any of these steps you could contact me:
1- Start with cleaning the floor with cool water and passing burning incense thru the section where you are going to perform this service … (charcol incense is best ever better if you use THREE KINGS)
2- Start with prayers (jewish, catholic, islamic w/e type of holy prayers to the highest power you know) … then ask legba to open the gates for you … light a small white candle for Legba …
2- Sprinkle perfumes on the area that you plan to place Damballahs service (I also like to use perfumed white powders, and I also recommend you use REVE D’OR perfume to sprinkle in that area … yet its not a requirement)
3- Place a completely white CLEAN scarf on the floor
4- On a completely white plate that you have filled with completely white FLOUR (as in the flour you use to cook with), place a completely white egg on top and a clear glass of water,and a white candle … all of this either on the plate or on the white scarve non of it is to touch the actual floor.
5- ask Damballah for serenity, peace, guidance, level headedness … anything you feel that this lwa can offer you …End with prayers or chante lwa and thanking legba for opening the gates and feel the presence of damballah … ***FOR THOSE ENTERING THE 21 DIVISION ASK HIM FOR HIS GUIDANCE AND PERMISSION …. AS HE IS THE ANCIENT SERPENT OF VODOU***
